Please support PGFB! Pulse does!

I have been appointed as the Regional Co-Ordinator for Look Good Feel Better® (LGFB).This is the UK’s only national cancer charity dedicated to helping women and teenagers manage the effects that cancer and its treatment have have on their appearance.

look-good-feel-better-logoI’m thrilled to announce that LGFB will launch their free Skincare and Make-up Workshops to women living with cancer in Milton Keynes.

The first workshop at the The Peartree Centre in Milton Keynes will be on Thursday 15th October and going forward these will be held monthly. Every two-hour workshop is run by trained beauty volunteers, such as myself and we take the ladies through a specially designed skincare and make-up regime.

We are in the process of recruiting additional beauty volunteers. If you would like to get involved in this invaluable initiative, please visit: www.lookgoodfeelbetter.co.uk or email info@lgfb.co.uk or call on 01372 747500.

Facts & Figures

Last year, over 14,500 women and teenagers were supported through our Workshops, Masterclasses and selfhelp materials.

Free skincare and makeup Workshops are held in 78 hospitals and cancer care centres across the UK – in 2014 LGFB ran more than 1,200 Workshops.

LGFB needs more than 250,000 skincare and make-up products for the fabulous gift bags for each attendee - and these are generously donated by the beauty, cosmetic and fragrance industry.

As the beauty and fragrance industry’s flagship charity, we work closely with more than 50 member companies and supporting brands.

Christian Louboutin officially launches his lipstick collection on September 1st

This collection seriously does have the WOW factor and is inspired by Louboutin’s amazing shoes and handbags!

Featuring a whopping 38 shades in three different textures; velvet matte, sheer voile and silky satin, there’s a shade and finish for everyone.

Despite the eye watering price tag of £60, I suspect these will fly off the shelves.

Wing it

How to Achieve the Perfect Line!

wing-it-achieve-the-perfect-line

A lasting trend seen yet again on the Autumn/Winter 2015 runways. The sultry winged-out eyeliner or “cat eye” is a classic look that has been with us since one of history’s most revered beauties, Cleopatra, ruled her kingdom!

  • The look can be a little tricky for a novice but don’t panic - it’s easily mastered!
  • There are many application methods and variations in style and colour.
  • Identify your eye shape at the outset as this will dictate where you draw the lines.
  • Gel, liquid or pencil liners can be used. My preference is gel liner - using a small angle brush to apply the product.
  • The key to this look is executing sharp and clean lines.
  • Make sure the eyeliner is thinner on the inner corner and gradually thickens toward the outer corner.

perfect-lineSTEP 1 - Starting from the inner corner of your lid, draw a line close to the lash line to the outer edge.

STEP 2 - For the wing, draw a line from the outer upper lash line at a 45 degree angle; imagine you are extending your lower lash line up (use a pencil as a guide to get the angle). How far you extend the wing depends on how dramatic a look you want

STEP 3 - Connect the wing to the liner you have drawn on the upper lash line.

STEP 4 - Fill in the “v” shape created by joining the lines and voila!
