SUMMER MAGIC - How to achieve the sun-kissed look
To achieve a glow for summer that looks natural and well-blended, follow these simple rules....
The absolute key to this look is subtlety, but make sure your skin is in tip top condition by hydrating and moisturising. Use cream rather than powder products to achieve that all important natural and dewey look and select products with a sheer or luminous finish.
NB: Do not be tempted to “over shimmer”, it will look fake and overdone!
Top Tip
Create a natural sheen on your cheekbones using a cream highlighter.
Apply MAC’s Creme Colour Base (£15.50) directly onto skin or over foundation with fingertips - quick and easy with an instant wow factor!
.EYES
Burberry’s Beauty Sheer Eyeshadow Palette, Mocha No.2. Apply a sweep of gold on the lids and use the darker shades in the crease and outer corners. Really make your eyes pop by dabbing a small amount of the palest iridescent shade on the inner corners of the eyes! (£40.00)
LIPS
A slick of Laura Mercier’s Lip Plumper Lip Gloss in Bronzed Berry (£24.50) instantly plumps and hydrates your lips giving a sheer finish.
CHEEKS

Do not come between a makeup artist and their brushes! I’m always on the hunt for good quality brushes and I guard them like the crown jewels!
I was keen to try out the Vintage Cosmetics Company’s range of brushes but would have been here all day! So I opted to trial the Smokey Eye Brush Set.
Given its very reasonable price tag of £16.50 for 3 brushes I hoped they wouldn’t disappoint (my smallest brush costs substantially more than these!). They certainly didn’t.
These brushes are made from synthetic fibres making them both hypo allergenic and super soft on the skin. Each brush is designed for an easy 3 step smokey eye application which works very well. And the ultimate test? Having washed them and patiently waited for them to dry, they held their shape perfectly! An easy 4.5 out of 5 rating.
